An All Video Update!

Hi everybody! I'm sorry I've been so bad about doing updates, but I've been busy growing. Check out my newest videos:

I use my exersaucer to get around. I'm using it here to get closer to a picture on the dishwasher.

I take baths in the sink. Splash, splash, splash, sneeze!

I crawl to get around. I especially like to crawl to get to the kitty!

Petting The Kitty

Sometimes Mommy helps me pet the kitty. I love the kitty! Whenever I see her I squeal with delight!
When I start petting the kitty, everyone's happy. Her fur is so soft!

Sometimes I get really excited, and Mommy tells me to be gentle.

In the end, I have a little souvenir from the kitty.

(Daddy notes: I know some of these pictures look pretty rough, but Clairisse is free to jump down from the couch. She actually seems to like Enzo and his rough petting. In other words, no animals were harmed in the making of this blog entry)

My Acting Debut

I'm seven months old and already a child actor! Don't worry, I won't end up in trouble with the law and on the cover of the Enquirer like all the other kid actors. I played the role of baby Moeshe in the Community Seder at Shul. Eat your heart out, Charleton Heston! Wait, I guess he can't eat his heart out, because he's dead. Mommy told me so. Below are Rabbi Mira and Carolyn-Lipson Walker, Cantor extrordinaire singing a song about the 10 plagues. Her husband George Walker was the Sandek at my Bris. They are kind of like God Parents to me, and they're always happy to see me when I go to temple.

There I am hamming it up with Mommy! Mommy was Yocheved, Moeshe's mother who put him in the basket and left him in the river for Pharaoh's daughter to find.
The best part of this role is I didn't have to say or do anything, really. I just laid there in my Ima's arms like the cutie I am. I was starting to get tired. Note the "glazed" look.
FYI: I can wave "bye", but I was too pooped to do it, so Ima did it for me. Next year I'll be ready to part the Red Sea! Hag Sameach!

Blasto - Party Animal

A couple of weeks ago Mommy and Daddy took me on a car ride. I like car rides, so I thought it would be fun. We kept driving and driving, we were in the car longer than I can remember. I was starting to get tired of sitting in my car seat, so I have to admit I was a little fussy after awhile. But then we all got out of the car and went into a room with beds and a crib. I heard Daddy call it a "HOTEL" We were only there for a few minutes then we left again. We were only in the car a couple of minutes this time, then we went into a place with loud music and lots of tables. We went into a room where there were a bunch of people who seemed happy to see Daddy. Daddy was talking to some people and Mommy was dancing with me and she told me we were at a "PARTY" I liked it! There were lots of people there and everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun and people were really nice to me. Daddy took me to meet some people.

Daddy said this man is named John, but I heard Daddy calling him Jebby. Daddy's weird. Anyway, Daddy said that he's the birthday boy, that he's turning 40, and that this was his party. I liked this guy, he made funny faces.

This is my Daddy's friend Doug holding me. Daddy is being goofy. Doug rode with us some of the way in the car. He is nice and he makes Daddy laugh.

Daddy said this is his friend Shirley. She was really nice, too. I thought she was pretty and that made me smile.

This is Joanne. She's John's wife, and she's the one who threw the party. I just wanted to touch her face to say thanks.

I mostly played with Mommy. We had fun. I like to party!
After awhile I got tired and Mommy took me back to the hotel. I had a hard time sleeping in their crib, it just wasn't as comfortable as my bed. I don't think Mommy and Daddy slept well either, because every time I got up and made noise, they got up too.

The next morning we got in the car again and drove for a long time, but not as long as the day before. We stopped at a "RESTAURANT", and Grandpa was there! I like Grandpa! He was there with his special friend Grandma Jane. Everybody had something to eat, and everybody took turns holding and playing with me.

Here's me and Grandpa in the restaurant. Daddy says I look a lot like Grandpa, what do you think?

Grandpa took a picture of me and Mommy and Daddy. It was really nice outside!
Here I am with Grandpa and Grandma Jane. Grandpa gave me the baseball uniform, but I'm not sure what baseball is.
After everybody ate and we took some pictures and everybody talked and stuff, we got back in the car for another really long ride. I'm glad Mommy and Daddy took me to see fun people and do fun new things. I can't wait for another adventure!

Bunny Suit

I don't really celebrate Easter, but my Grandma Mari sent my a little bunny suit and it was just too cute not to try it on.
It has a little bunny hat, and little bunny feet, and as Mommy is pointing out a little bunny tail.

I think I look cute in it. What do you think?

Eating on video

Here's a video of the first time I ate avocado. At first I thought it was icky, but by the end of the bowl I was smiling.

Eating Is Fun!

One day Daddy took a bunch of stuff out of a box and built this new thing. Mommy put me in the new thing and put one of my favorite toys on it. I was sitting up on my own and I was way up high! I loved it!
I could tell the new thing was just for me, and I was very proud of my new thing.

Then Mommy sat in front of me with a bowl and a spoon and put some stuff on the spoon and held it in front of me. I've been watching Mommy and Daddy eating, so I knew I should open my mouth and let the stuff go in.

The stuff was kind of weird, not like the milk I always eat. It didn't taste like the milk either.

But even though Daddy didn't keep taking pictures, I realized I really liked the stuff. Every day now Mommy feeds me more stuff. Every few days Mommy gives me some new, different stuff. Every time I try the new stuff I'm not sure if I like it at first, but by the time I finish what Mommy has in the bowl, I almost always have a smile on my face.

Mommy says the name of what she's feeding me, stuff like "rice cereal" and "oatmeal" and "squash" and "bananas". I pretty much like it all. Yesterday though she gave me something I'm still not sure I liked, "peas". I still ate it all. I can't wait to eat more stuff!

Massive Pic Post!

By popular demand, (o.k., mommy and daddy made me do it) I'm posting a bunch of pictures of myself.

This picture of me was taken just this past Sunday! The weather was nice so Mommy and Daddy dressed me in this cute summer outfit Grandma Judy sent me.

Here's another cute little outfit Grandma Judy got me.

Daddy's cousin Nikki made me this sweater and hat. Mommy and Daddy smile a lot when I wear it :)

This is me with my girlfriend Alice. Mommy and Daddy arrange dates for us about once a month with Alice's Mommy and Daddy. I'm the older man, almost two months older!

I like it when Mommy holds me. She's so pretty!

Daddy likes to feed me from the bottle.

Mommy and Daddy are always calling me a little monkey. I guess it because of this onesie.

This outfit has a bib with a doggie on it. I like doggies and kitties a lot!

This is me hanging out in my exersaucer.

I sometimes fall asleep in my seat.

It's really nice to sleep with a couple of friends.

I am a video star!

Daddy found out that his digital camera can take videos. He made them short so that people with dial up can watch them too!

Christmastime

In my last post I was telling you that I'm special because I'm Jewish and about my first Hanukkah, so it might surprise you to know that I also got to enjoy a little X-mas fun! Most of my relatives aren't Jewish, though they aren't necessarily Christians either. My daddy says he just really likes the whole Santa Claus part of the holiday. I don't really understand all of that, but I got some cute outfits to wear, and that's always fun.

Grandma Mari sent me this outfit. She sent Mommy and Daddy the snowman years ago.

Grandpa Denny sent this cute little bear.

My cousin Annie sent me these PJs
Daddy woke me up early on the morning this picture was taken and said Santa Claus came. He said that Santa Claus doesn't usually visit Jewish kids, but Daddy asked him special. There was one small present under the tree for me, one for Mommy, and one for each of the pets. I didn't know what to do, so Mommy and Daddy opened the presents while I watched. I thought it was funny when they ripped the paper!

Oy Chanukkah

Besides being the cutest baby ever, there's another reason I'm special. I'm a Jew. I don't really know what that means yet, but my mommy tells me that it's all about being a good person. I think she's said something like, "Deed above Creed". I became Jewish because it happens when a baby is born to a Jewish mother. She takes me to temple most Fridays and I really like going to hear all the singing in that "funny" language. Plus I get held by a ton of people: my God Parents George and Carolyn, and too many little old ladies to count. When I was in mom's tummy she prayed every morning in that "funny" language, and I've grown to like it. It makes me smile and sometimes calms me down when I am upset. She still prays in the morning and I help by smiling.

Me, Mommy, and Daddy at Shul

There's a holiday held during the winter called Chanukkah, which is all about celebrating a battle that the Jewish people won over some other really mean people. We celebrate by lighting candles on a menorah and eating foods fried in oil, mostly potato pancakes called latkes. I didn't get to eat any latkes this year, so mommy and daddy ate a few extra for me. They didn't take any pictures of the menorah display-(BOO mommy and daddy!) but it looked like the whole table in the social hall was on fire. Kids and big babies were running around the temple singing songs and having a good time. I can't wait to grow up and play with them.

Tummy Time!

So Mommy and Daddy make me do something called tummy time. They lay me on my tummy for 15 or 20 minutes. They told me that it's going to help me learn to hold my head up and eventually learn to crawl. I don't like tummy time. I hold my head up at first, but then I get frustrated and sob into the blanket.

When I first started doing tummy time, I looked like this:
Eventually, I got better at it:
I try to cheat by rolling on my side:
Sometimes I actually have fun:
What're you lookin' at?

Seat Cover

One of Mommy's friends gave her an insulated cover that goes right over my car seat. That way Mommy and Daddy can take me places without having to put a coat on me:
At first I wasn't too sure I liked it:

But when people see me in it they always tell me how cute I am. That makes me happy!

Now I'm so used to it, I even like to take naps under it:

Bath Time!

I love baths! They feel good and I like the way Mommy takes care of me.

I sit in my own special little tub that fits in the kitchen sink:

I can look out the window from here:

Mommy takes her time and washes me all over:

I get all sudsy!

I like to watch Mommy, can you see my curly hair?

Time for a rinse!
And a fun towel to get dry with:

Mommy's happy when I'm clean and smell good!
